Guided Bat Walks

This guided walk starts at the Woodland Centre, by the lido beach, with a short talk followed by a walk around the lido path. The meeting point is outside the new Woodland Centre by the beach and café at the Lido. As in recent years the path around that side of the lake has seen the best display of bats.

If you have a bat detector, please bring it with you, however if you do not have one we have plenty to lend out to those who join us, and you will be shown how to use them!

Each walk’s timings are different based on the time of the sunset, as just before sunset is the best time to see bats. Please see the details of timings for each walk below, however it is no problem for people to leave earlier.

Please bring warm clothing, boots and a torch. Children are welcome but not dogs on this walk please. There will be a small charge of £2.50 per person.

If it rains within 2 hours of the start time the walks won’t take place as the bats will not come out.

The Lido car park closes at 9pm so please use alternative parking.
